Check out a living book Saturday at Mission Library

Have you ever wondered why someone would run for elected office? Or what it’s like to come to Canada from another country? Have you ever wondered what it really means to be Aboriginal? Or how anyone could like heavy metal music?

Come to the Living Library event at the Mission Library Feb. 19 from noon to 4 p.m. to find out.

In the Living Library, books are actual people from groups often not well understood in mainstream society. They can face stereotypes, prejudice and sometimes even discrimination. Have a conversation and learn about their real experiences.

This event is organized by Canada World Youth (CWY) and the library with the help of Mission Community Services Society. The CWY team consists of 17 young adult volunteers from across Canada and Ukraine.
