On July 1, Mission begins counting down the days remaining until the start of the national Culture Days celebration taking place Sept. 28-30.

The public can experience a smorgasbord of free and fun events happening all over the community. Last year Mission hosted an amazing 44 events and placed fifth in Canada for its population size.

This year, the Mission Cultural Resources Commission and its Culture Days team are hoping to schedule even more events.

The three-day celebration explores different aspects of culture, such as arts and craft, dance, music, culinary arts, design, photography, and literary arts. This year will see some events from past years return, such as the annual Roots and Blues Festival, and tours of the Stave Falls Power House, plus some new events to be announced soon.

Events will take place in five geographic hubs: Downtown Mission, Stave West, Fraser River Heritage Park, The Junction Shopping Centre and “A Little Outside the Hubs.”

Everyone is invited to participate, either by attending events of your choosing, or by hosting an event of your own.
