There’s plenty to do around town this Halloween weekend. Here’s just a few options for ghouls and ghosts both young and old.
Friday, Oct. 28
Lil’ Jack’s Haunted House — by donation
This is in honour of Jack Wilbee, a five-month-old who died of a heart defect. It runs from Oct. 28-30 from 5 to 9 p.m. Proceeds go to BC Children’s Hospital.
Stage Fright — $15 adult, $10 child
Ecole Mission Central Elementary presents a night of magic featuring magician John Kaplan at 7 p.m, at the Clarke Theatre. Tickets are available at Ecole Mission Central. Come in costume with your family.
Saturday, Oct. 29
Costume Party — $10
The McConnell Creek Farmer’s Hall will be hosting a costume party and dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. (adults only), with live DJ music and refreshments. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Halloween for Hospice — $15.50
Ghoulish delights await those who come to the 14th Avenue Pub for a Burger and Brew from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be door prizes and costume awards and live entertainment. Proceeds go to the Hospice Society.
Monday, Oct. 31
Halloween Hoot for kids — Free
This is a celebration for children 0-6, their parents and caregivers at the Leisure Centre from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy Halloween crafts, a bouncy castle, face painting, games, stories and a mat and toy area. Everyone is encouraged to dress up.
History & Horror — $2
Come visit the Mission Museum’s Haunted House between 4:30-6 p.m. for spooky thrills, crafts and historical activities. It’s perfect for younger children and families. Fee includes hot chocolate!
