Mission Environmental Stewardship Society will ring in Earth Day with a celebration at Fraser River Heritage Park on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The ‘Green Living’ event will feature several activities to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable living within Mission.

Children will be able to learn bike skills through a Cycling BC drop-in clinic, with additional activities such as Earth ball, nature crafts, plantings, food and shopping.

A baby llama will also be present at the event, and kids will have the opportunity to help name it.

BRIM’s repair café will help fix broken items through donation, while Sheep to Shawl will have a loom, spinning, and weaving demonstration for eco-friendly textiles and fashion.

The event will feature over 40 exhibitors including vendors, guest speakers, animals, activities, community groups and an electric car display.
