Special Olympics Canada has partnered with Safeway stores in western Canada to help raise funds and awareness for people with intellectual disabilities.

Members of Mission's Special Olympics soccer team were at the local Safeway March 7 to help kickoff the campaign, which runs until March 21.

The Mission grocery store raised $2,913, while company wide, $419,595 was raised. Customers are invited to donate $2 to the campaign and in return they receive five AirMiles Reward Miles. One hundred per cent of all funds raised go directly to support our programs and help local families.
