Volunteers marched along Lougheed Highway on Wednesday to help promote Mental Health Week.

Volunteers took part in a Wellness Walk from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday. They marched along Lougheed Highway near the Mission Safeway.

Walkers had two purposes, to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness in the community and to advertise Mental Health Week (May 4-10) which is celebrated across Canada and the world.

As part of Mental Health Week, Mission’s Centennial Place (33032 11th Avenue) will be holding an open house on Friday, May 8, beginning at 1 p.m.
