Arsenault Tree Service teamed up with the St. Joseph’s Food Bank last week to hold a Christmas tree chipping fundraiser.

Meeting community needs is the primary goal of St. Joseph’s Food Bank. Ron Leger, a local business owner and volunteer leader at the food bank said it is all about community support

“The community of Mission has a strong reputation and eagerness to care for others and share in this cause. It is encouraging and truly inspires others to help others,” said Leger.

Leger said one notable event and example of this community engagement was a “brew and burger” evening in December at the 14th Avenue Pub. This event resulted in them handing over a cheque to St. Joseph’s Food Bank for $6,477.94.

Pub owners Danielle and Lloyd Slack were proud to be involved in this fundraising event, both adding this was a project that so many were eager to be involved to support those in need through the St. Joseph’s Food Bank.

Danielle said this has been an easy connect, adding that a tour of St. Joseph’s Food Bank was an “eye-opening experience” that allowed her and Lloyd to see real need and caring shine through.
