New floats

The Stave Lake boat launch is back up and running with new floats

The Stave Lake boat launch floats have recently been replaced. The floats on either side of the ramp are a public amenity provided by BC Hydro for recreational boat users. The new floats were installed July 22 and cost Hydro $153,000. The previous floats were in place since the early 1980s, and according to BC Hydro spokesperson Will Mbaho, they were declared a public safety risk and had to be replaced. The boat launch is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to dusk.
