Chilliwack’s Central Community Park was filled with plant-based food and foodies as people took in an inaugural event on the weekend.
The Vegan Foodie Festival took place on Saturday, June 17. It coincided with the one-year-anniversary of the opening of The Veganist, Chilliwack’s first vegan grocery store located in downtown Chilliwack.
Food trucks, dessert booths and other vendors filled the park for the six-hour event.
One festival-goer said people take on a vegan diet for a number of reasons including religious, allergies, ethical and more.
