Mission Communities in Bloom Society is planting a red oak tree to celebrate Earth Day, April 16.
The tree planting will take place during Hatzic Elementary School's 100th anniversary celebrations next Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The red oak tree will be a welcome additional to the outdoor space at the school providing shade during the summer months.
Hatzic elementary is located at 8465 Draper St.
