Valley Christian School has temporarily moved from its Cherry Street site to one on Cedar Street and Dewdney Trunk Road.

Valley Christian School has moved from its location at Cedar Street and Cherry Avenue, but they want the community to know they haven't closed down.

They've simply moved up the road to Cedar and Dewdney Trunk Road right beside the MusiKids Childcare Centre.

Paul Burns, chairman of Valley's board of directors, said some people have mistakenly assumed the school closed down, but portable classrooms are already set up in the new locale and are ready to accept students when class begins in two weeks.

The portables are only a temporary home, Burns added. The school has purchased a lot on Cedar just north of Tunbridge Avenue, and will pursue constructing a permanent building on that site pending approval from the municipality.

Burns said the move was necessary because their five-year lease expired and the buildings at the old school are now being demolished.

Valley Christian has about 100 students enrolled for September.
