Five concerts at local farms held on select Fridays throughout the summer

Tourism Abbotsford is hosting a Sun and Soil summer concert series starting on Friday, July 24.

The series takes place on select Fridays and features a total of five concerts held at local farms, with a limit of 50 people in person at each event in line with provincial COVID-19 restrictions. But people can also tune in from the comfort of their homes.

Each concert takes place from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The first concert on July 24 is held at Tuscan Farm Gardens and features singer Jada Klein.

The other performances take place:

• July 31 at Singletree Winery with featured performer Ben Cottrill

• Aug. 14 at Taves Estate Cidery with music by The Crescent Sky

• Aug. 28 at Field House Farms with performer Kyler Pierce

• Sept. 11 at Five Acre Farms with musical guest Ryan McAllister

Craig Nichols, executive director of Tourism Abbotsford, said the series is a perfect opportunity to share music and food “against the stunning Fraser Valley backdrop we live in.”

“As Abbotsford is an agricultural hub, we are always eager to showcase our farm partners through our handmade and homegrown lens,” he said.

Nichols said Tourism Abbotsford is especially grateful to the presenting sponsor, Abbotsford Tech District.

Tickets are $50 per person – sold in packages of two or four people – and include local wine, beer, or cider, and charcuterie boxes with ingredients sourced from local farms. Tickets are available online at tourismabbotsford.ca/store.

Attendees are invited to bring a picnic blanket, but chairs will also be provided.

For those wishing to tune in virtually, Tourism Abbotsford recommends ordering from a local restaurant and enjoying the concert on Tourism Abbotsford’s Instagram page.
