The Envision Financial Twilight Concert Series has only four concerts remaining for this summer.
On Friday, Aug. 17, Wichita Trip makes the trek from Vancouver to get the weekend started at Fraser River Heritage Park.
Wichita Trip combines the best of rock ‘n’ roll, classic country, soul and blues, resulting in a potent brew of electric roots music.
Showcasing original tunes and carefully selected covers, the band’s main ambitions are to put on rocking live shows and continue to record their brand of funky country rock tunes.
This music comes from the honky-tonks of the deep South, the Grand Ole Opry and the streets of Bakersfield.
On Wednesday, Aug. 22, join the Twilight team in welcoming one of Mission’s finest country gentlemen, Kenny Hess. Fresh from one of the most successful Rocking on the River festival to date, Hess is well known in the community.
He has had a successful career, with several songs reaching the top 40 nationally, over 100 of his original songs recorded and 14 critically acclaimed CDs to his credit.
He has also been nominated for the Canadian Country Music Awards and has won several BC Country Music Awards, including male vocalist of the year, songwriter of the year, and producer and album of the year.
Hess is also an eight-time traditional country artist of the year and in 2010 was honoured with the Entertainer Lifetime Achievement Award.
Has has not only headlined numerous shows, but has opened for artists such as Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Big and Rich, Dwight Yoakam, Reba, Merle Haggard, Travis Tritt, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Hess was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts run every Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m.
