All Saints 110 years old

All Saints Anglican Church is recognizing its 110th anniversary later this year, and a number of events have already been organized.

To celebrate the milestone, there will be a dinner Nov. 5 in the church hall. Tickets and information may be obtained by calling 604-826-2814. Two days later, Bishop Michael Ingham of the Diocese of New Westminster will officiate at a special 10 a.m. service.

All Saints started with a church service in November 1901. By April 1902 there was a church on the main street (Washington Street, now First Avenue) at the corner of James Street with a vicarage next door. From the outset there was a Ladies Guild and the ladies and men of All Saints were as much involved in the life of Mission, as they were in their church's life.

A bazaar before Christmas has been coordinated by the Women of All Saints for over 105 years. This year, it will be Nov. 19, from noon until 4 p.m. It will include a tea, home-baking, sewing and crafts, silent auction, white elephant as well as the mincemeat, made annually since 1948.
