Mission RCMP is investigating a “sophisticated” break-in at a warehouse complex near Gill Avenue at 3:45 a.m. on Sept. 11.

A pair of one-ton cube vans were repainted black and used in the break-in by a group of alleged thieves. Police say the break-in was targeting a business in the warehouse complex. Both vehicles were found burned in Silverdale on Wolfe Street an hour later.

In a news release, Mission RCMP said both vehicles were originally white and were stolen in Langley weeks before the break-in.

“This was clearly a pre-planned crime,” Mission RCMP Cpl. Harrison Mohr said. “We’re asking for the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved and we believe that there are people out there that saw these trucks in the hours or days before this crime was committed. Keep in mind that the trucks might have been white or black.”

The two vans used in the break-in were a Ford E350 and a Sprinter-van front with a moving-truck-style box on the back. Police say the Ford had “Ezee Hoarding” decals on the sides and back when it was stolen and also had a large aftermarket off-road bumper mounted to its front.

The black paint job included covering both the brake lights and running lights.

RCMP say several of the intruders wore reflective green or yellow construction-type jackets and balaclavas during the break-in.

Further details on the incident are not being released by police to ensure the safety of the business that was targeted.

Those with information are urged to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, referencing File 23-11087.
