Mission RCMP stopped a man snapping his whip in public after multiple complaints over the past few months.

According to the detachment’s weekly “Community Connection” crime recap, an officer found a man with whip in hand on March 25 and seized it to prevent further incidents.

The man, whom the detachment calls the “whipper-snapper”, was warned by Mission RCMP in February after he was snapping a whip in the 32500 block of Lougheed Highway.

An officer spoke with a man with a history of using whips on Feb. 12. Police say the man admitted he had been out using his whip and would not bring it out again.

“The warning was apparently not heeded, as the man was again snapping his whip in a public parking lot on March 25, scaring other people in the area,” Mission RCMP said.

The detachment received multiple other complaints about the man and his whip over the past few months.
