A truck struck a pole near the 14th Avenue and Horne Street intersection just before 9 a.m. on Friday (April 26).

BC Hydro is on site and almost 2,500 customers are without power. According to an update at 1:30 p.m. on BC Hydro’s website, the power is expected to return for customers by 5 p.m.

Scanner information indicates the “pole is no longer viable”.

14th Avenue has been closed since Tuesday (April 23) from Grand Street to Knight Avenue during daytime working hours due to ongoing road and utility improvements in the area, according to a City of Mission social media post from earlier in the week.
