While people across the globe reflected on the events of September 11, and the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, firefighters, police officers and paramedics from Abbotsford joined emergency services responders from Washington State in a ceremony at the Sumas Border Crossing on Sunday morning.
"We are more than just neighbours, we are friends," Abbotsford Mayor George Peary said, and thanked the people of Sumas for allowing Abbotsford to take part in the event.
