Fraser Health declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Timothy Christian School in Chilliwack on Saturday (Feb. 13), after 35 COVID-19-positive cases were identified among staff and students.
Timothy Christian, an independent school, voluntarily closed on Feb. 4, and started remote learning.
“Students at the school transitioned to remote learning due to staff needing to isolate because they had COVID-19 or were in close contact with people who had COVID-19, such as colleagues and household contacts,” according to the Fraser Health news release of Feb. 16. “Fraser Health Public Health is working with the school on a plan to return to in-school instruction, which is expected to be as early as Feb. 22.
