UPDATE: Pedestrian struck by tanker on Lougheed Highway in Mission

Mission RCMP on scene, asking for witnesses to come forward

A pedestrian has been struck by a semi tanker trailer on the Lougheed Highway in Mission.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 22) morning.

Mission RCMP is on scene. The accident occurred in the eastbound lane between Oliver Street and Wren Street.

An air ambulance was called to the scene and the pedestrian has been transported to hospital. There are no details on the person’s condition.

Traffic on the highway is currently stopped and vehicles are being detoured away from the area.

Drivers should expect long delays.

Mission RCMP is asking that any witnesses, or anyone with dash-cam video of the incident contact them immediately at 604-826-7161.
