An armed robber walked into a local grocery store on Friday afternoon (Jan. 8) and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbery, which took place at Mikes Market, a community grocery store located in Hatzic Bench (8160 Manson St.) occurred at approximately 2 p.m.
According to witnesses, the suspect was driving a red Mazda pick-up with garbage in the back and had a female with him.
Mission RCMP are actively investigating the robbery but no suspects have been arrested at this time.
Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon said the red truck used in the robbery has been recovered.
“The vehicle was stolen and was recovered a short distance from the scene,” he said.
