The City of Mission is seeking the public’s input on its re-branding initiative through an online survey.

Branding is more than just a logo, it’s a “visual identity,” according to a press release from the city. It says a new brand should be authentic, inclusive, and representative of the community.

“Our branding is much more important than the average person might think. It is our opportunity to express what our community means to us, in words, pictures, and ways of being,” said Mayor Paul Horn.

Mission was reclassified as a city just over a year ago, and the city wants a new image to reflect the changing nature of a growing and diverse city.

The final product will have new logos, fonts, colours and images, and will be used consistently throughout the municipality.

The survey is a chance for the public to give their perspective until it closes on Aug. 28.

“In order for that process to truly reflect our community’s culture, we need the input of our neighbors,” said Horn. “I hope that everyone—from the youngest to the oldest, from those new to our community to those with the deepest roots—will have their say.”
