Driver in hospital after car flips

Icy road conditions blamed for morning crash in Silverdale

A Mission woman is recovering in hospital after the vehicle she was driving hit an icy patch on the road and crashed.

The accident happened Tuesday morning on Silverdale Avenue, near Hemlock Street, around 8:40 a.m., said Mission RCMP Const. Kale Pauls.

“The road was like a skating rink,” said Pauls, who explained the vehicle hit a guard rail as it was travelling over a small bridge before flipping and landing on its roof.

The lone occupant in the vehicle was extracted from the vehicle by emergency personnel and taken to a local hospital with injuries, unknown at this time.
