Grant funds initiative for Mission youth

Money used to identify gaps in services for local young people

A $20,000 grant from the B.C. government will help fund a Collaborative Youth Health Practices Initiative.

The money will be used to help identify the gaps in youth services and expand services offered by the initiative, which provides meaningful, social and healthy activities for low-income and marginalized youth.

This grant is awarded under the Healthy Communities Capacity Building Grant, which supports local government in learning about the needs of their residents in the fields of mental health, physical activity and literacy. More than 150 applications were received from communities across the province for projects as diverse as active transportation planning and urban agriculture promotion.
