Highway closed after Mission accident

Mission emergency personnel were called to Lougheed Highway Christmas Day

A single-vehicle accident on Christmas Day sent four people to hospital, with one being airlifted from the scene on Lougheed Highway, just west of Chester Street.

The Scoular family suffered no life-threatening injuries in the crash and have been released from hospital.

A Good Samaritan, who only wished to be referred to as Al, was the first on the scene and helped comfort the family, according to media reports.

Melanie Scoular said on The Record’s Facebook page that her two sons, five and seven, along with her pregnant 19-year-old daughter will recover.
