The next reign of local leaders are expected to be named Saturday night, as Mission’s 2022 municipal election gets underway.
Are you ready to vote to elect a mayor, six councillors and four school trustees? If you are, the Mission Record has you covered. Check in with missioncityrecord.com throughout the day and especially after the polls close at 8 p.m. as we will be updating results with context all night until the winners are finalized.
Incumbent Mayor Paul Horn faces challengers Dustin Hiles and H.S. Kenny Braich. As for councillors, there are five incumbents running for six seats as Coun. Cal Crawford is retiring from council. Five people are running for four board of education seats.
Polls are open in Mission from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

What happens once polls close?
After 8 p.m. local time, election officials will begin counting and tallying the ballots. The Record will have a reporter at Mission City Hall as the votes come in and will be updating our stories until a winner is finalized.
