Man approaches two women at Junction Mall

Mission RCMP have received two reports of a suspicious male

Police are investigating two reports of a suspicious male approaching women at the Junction Mall Jan. 26.

Shortly before 9 p.m., Mounties received a call from a woman in the mall parking lot. She reported she was in her vehicle when an unknown man came up to the car and motioned with his hand that he wanted her cellphone.

She refused, then he tapped on the window with a dark object, which the female thought was a handgun, and proceeded to drive away, said Mission RCMP.

Police were notified of a second incident a few minutes later. In this occurrence, a woman was parking when a man approached her door and said he had an emergency and needed to use her cellphone.

After she said no, the man tried the door handle. No threat was made, said Wright, and the male then ran off.

The man is described as standing between 5'8" to 6'0" with a heavy build, wearing a white and black jacket, a black toque or balaclava and carrying a black umbrella.

If you have information call 604-826-7161, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
