After 48 days, the COVID-19 outbreak at Mission Memorial Hospital has been declared over, according to Dr. Bonnie Henry’s Aug. 4 update.

The news was followed by the announcement of an outbreak at Maple Ridge’s Senior Village.

Mission Memorial Hospital’s outbreak was initially announced on June 17, after residents in Abbotsford’s Tabor Home and Langley’s Maple Hill long-term care facilities tested positive and the cases were traced back to Mission.

Enhanced precautions were implemented immediately at the site, as well as contact tracing.

Fraser Health remains the most infectious region of any B.C. health authority with 1989 cases, followed by Vancouver Coastal Health with 1199.
