Mission RCMP hosting Auto Crime Awareness event

Free steering wheel locks will be given away to owners of pre-2007 vehicles

The Mission RCMP are hosting an Auto Crime Awareness Event on April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. by the Mission Save-On-Foods at the Junction Mall (32555 London Ave.).

The RCMP’s Community Safety Enforcement Team along with Crime Prevention Office volunteer will be on site speaking with the public about auto crime awareness and offering free auto crime prevention audits on the public’s vehicles.

Free steering wheel locks will be given away to owners of pre-2007 vehicles. All you have to do is show one of the volunteers your car insurance to receive the free lock.

“Thieves are looking for opportunities to steal or break in to your vehicle, so keep your keys secure at all times and lock your car or truck,” say police.
