The Envision Financial Twilight Concert series returned to Fraser River Heritage Park on Friday

The Envision Financial Twilight Concerts have returned as the Mission Secondary band took to the stage at Fraser River Heritage Park on Friday (June 3) night.

While the schools in Mission have performed at the series for many years, this was the first time that MSS performs since the amalgamation of the three high schools last September.

The next event takes place on Wednesday, June 8, at 7 p.m., as Hatzic Middle School makes an appearance in the park. Following in the footsteps of the strong musical tradition at Hatzic Secondary, Hatzic Middle School has proven that it can “keep up with the big kids” and put on performances worth watching. Under the direction of Julie Aldridge, HMS has had a great first year and looks forward to “rocking the park.”

The twilight concerts will again rely on the support of the local community, especially the Special Olympics team, who are present at every concert assisting in the parking area. The concerts are a true reflection of the spirit of the community of Mission. The series is free; however, donations by the audience ensure the ongoing success of the summer series.

The Full Cupboard, Envision Financial’s signature cause, will again be on site during four of the concerts. All non-perishable items and cash donations will be collected for St. Joseph’s Food Bank.

The first date for the Full Cupboard collection is June 29.

A full concert schedule is available on the Facebook page or by picking up a brochure at the concerts.
