Nearly 3,000 pot plants taken from two Mission residences

Mission RCMP seized 2,800 marijuana plants Friday night from two residences in the 41300 block of North Nicomen Road.

Mounties executed the first search warrant May 27 and located 1,800 plants, a 9 mm Ruger handgun and a crossbow inside the first home. Nobody was on the property at that time.

While conducting neighbourhood inquiries, police found a second marijuana grow operation on the same block. After obtaining a search warrant for that residence, police took away 1,000 plants and a loaded .45-calibre handgun.

A 42-year-old Abbotsford resident was arrested at the home in connection with the grow op.
