PROFILE: Pam Alexis, running for council

Pam Alexis was born and raised in Victoria, earning a fine arts degree at UVIC in 1980 and a teaching certificate in 1982.

After starting a family abroad, Pam decided to return to Canada and selected Mission to raise her children.

Pam worked at the Clarke Theatre from 1996-2001 before starting a small company to help produce community events. She also taught English at Mission Community Services and volunteered for other non-profit boards, serving on the Mission Heritage Association for over a decade.

Pam sat on the 2001 committee that looked at forming a cultural policy for Mission and then a 2005 task group, and has chaired the Cultural Resources Commission since 2010.

Pam was elected in 2005 as trustee for Mission Public Schools and re-elected in 2008, serving six productive years.

She has also been a proud Rotarian for over 10 years and served as president in 2010.
