PROFILE: Shelley Clarkson, running for council

Shelley Clarkson, a three-time school trustee, has switched gears to run for council.

Shelley Clarkson has been a long-time resident of Mission, and is best known for her 38-year career with Mission Library.

Clarkson is also known for her position as trustee on the Mission School Board, where she successfully served three terms (nine years).

She then decided to enter semi-retirement and enjoyed working for the Mission Downtown Business Association for 1.5 years.

Clarkson has been actively involved in many community organizations such as: Mission Community Foundation, Mission Harbour Authority, Mission Friends of the Library, The Optimist Club, Mission Rotary (Morning), and Fraser River Heritage Park.

Clarkson decided to run for council because she has, “great optimism in the future of Mission and its citizens, and I would like to be a part of its future development.”
