A rain warning has been issued for the Fraser Valley East, including Hope.

An Environment Canada advisory said rain, “at times heavy, is expected,” with up to 50 mm falling.

It said a storm system crossing B.C. was bringing rain, at times heavy, to eastern Fraser Valley. The rain was expected to ease to a few showers or flurries this evening.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads,” the notice said.

“If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”

Mainroad Lower Mainland Contracting issued a warning about a “possible snowfall impacting the Lower Mainland Service Area through next week.”

There is potential for mixed rain/snow showers Sunday overnight and minor, slushy snow accumulations across the Lower Mainland on Tuesday.
