Mission's Search and Rescue (MSAR) team helped rescue a wake boarder on Stave Lake Monday.
The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, was injured while wake boarding on the lake near Cypress Point, about 35 minutes from the boat launch area.
"She was badly injured with a suspected broken leg and had to be stretchered out," said John Lemond, president of MSAR.
The team was called out to assist paramedics who could not access that area of the lake.
"We transported the paramedics in our jet boat from the Stave Lake boat launch," Lemond explained.
The first responders stabilized the woman and transported her to hospital.
MSAR is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers who assist police, BC Ambulance Service and BC Coroners Service with search and rescue tasks.
