Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to a serious one-vehicle crash early this morning in west Abbotsford.
Shortly after 1 a.m. crews were called to Hillcrest Avenue and James Street where a car had collided with a utility pole.
It took nearly 20 minutes to extricate the man, as they had to remove parts of the car to get him out.
Police say speed appears to have been a factor.
The driver was taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.
More to come.
This driver is lucky to be alive. Alcohol + speed are a bad combination. pic.twitter.com/NdtJ2leKlp
