Mission council has awarded a construction contract worth $442,300 to New Line Skateparks for the construction of the new skateboarding park.
The new park will be constructed on the grounds of the Mission Leisure Centre, adjacent to the old skate park location.
Fundraising efforts are also taking place with the goal of making the new park even bigger. All money raised will go toward the completion of an additional section.
