There will be no curbside collection of garbage, recyclables and compost in Mission on Boxing Day (Dec. 26) and residents’ curbside collection day after Christmas will skip ahead by one day.

Residents in the curbside collection area may set out twice the regular garbage limit on their collection day following the holidays. Additional garbage after Christmas and New Year’s may be set out in bags, rather than bins, but must only be set out between 5 and 8 a.m. on the day of collection.

Christmas trees may be set out on any regular curbside collection day, if they are cut in half and devoid of all decorations, lights, fake snow and tinsel.

The Mission landfill will accept one tree per household free of charge for chipping and composting anytime.
