Blueberry fields in Hatzic Prairie begin to flood Monday as rain washes away the weekend snow.

The snow and ice storms this past weekend interrupted power to thousands of homes in Mission.

As of Monday afternoon, about 10 homes on Ferndale Avenue were still in the dark. According to BC Hydro's website, electricity is expected to be restored to those homes by 10 p.m. that night.

Power outages occurred throughout the municipality, from Hatzic to Stave Falls, beginning on March 1. Fallen trees and ice were the main causes.

According to the weather station at Westminster Abbey, about nine centimetres of snow fell in Mission beginning Saturday until around 5 p.m. Sunday night before the flakes turned to freezing rain.
