The Mission RCMP policing Forum that was set for March 9, has been cancelled.

A new date for the event has not yet been set.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Mission RCMP is going to host the third annual Mission Policing Forum on March 9.

Officer in Charge, Insp. Ted De Jager, is inviting the community to participate in the annual forum. This is the public’s opportunity to contribute to policing priorities in the community.

The forum will feature an update on crime trends in the community, a review of the Mission RCMP Detachment Annual Performance Plan and an update on new initiatives to increase the levels of service and coordination with community partners.

The evening will end with a panel discussion and an open question period to raise concerns, offer suggestions and meet with police officers and Mission detachment staff.

The Crime Prevention Office and Victim Service volunteers will be out in force to display the full range of community crime prevention services available in Mission.

The forum takes place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mission Leisure Centre’s gymnasium located at 7650 Grand St.

Childcare is available on site from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
