Update:Highway 3 westbound back open after multiple crashes on Sunday

Eastbound remains closed and DriveBC warns of extremely poor driving conditions

Update: 4:24 p.m.

DriveBC is reporting Highway 3 is now open in the westbound lanes but eastbound remains closed between Hope and Princeton due to multiple vehicle incidents and extremely poor driving conditions on Sunday.

There is no detour available. An assessment is in progress but there is no timeline on when another update is coming.

Multiple vehicle incidents on Highway 3, between Princeton and Hope, have closed the highway for the third time this weekend, AIM Roads reported Sunday Dec.12 at about 1 p.m.

Drive BC is reporting at least one accident occurred between Garret Road and Copper Mountain Road.

Crews are on scene and an update is expected at 3 p.m.
