Hands are clapping and hips are swaying to the sounds of world music at the Mission Folk Music Festival.
The rhythmic music by bands from Africa, North America, and Europe are entertaining audiences at Fraser River Heritage Park all weekend long.
Festival goers set up chairs, blankets and pillows throughout the park as one band after band perform on one of three stages during the day.
By noon, shortly after festival gates opened, hundreds of people had already staked out their patch of grass.
In the evening, everyone will gather around the main stage for unforgettable shows on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday night will feature The Sweet Lowdown, Zakiya Hooker, VOU, Quartetto Gelato, and Wil Campa Y Su Orquestra. Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Good For Grapes, Ruth Moody, and Dervish will be playing Sunday night. There will also be a finale performance on the last day.
Evening performances begin at 6 p.m.
