A Public Hearing to consider the following proposed bylaw will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 6:00 pm. This hearing may be viewed and heard in person at City Hall, 8645 Stave Lake Street, Mission, and on the City’s livestream webcast. Any person who believes they are affected by a proposed bylaw shall be given a reasonable opportunity to be heard. Participation in this Public Hearing can be done by:

Bylaw to be considered:
OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN AMENDING BYLAW 6271-2024-5670(46)
The purpose of the proposed Bylaw is to amend the Official Community Plan Bylaw 5670-2017 by replacing DP Area E: Natural Environment Section 9.7 and Map 14 with a new Section 9.7 and Maps 14a and 14b to create two Natural Environment DP Areas (DP Area E1 and DP Area E2).
The intent is to create the Forest Ecosystems Development Permit Area (DPA E1) which will promote environmental stewardship and regulate land clearing within forest ecosystems and create the Riparian Protection Development Permit Area (DPA E2) which will protect fish habitat, including streams and adjacent upland areas as well as promoting restoration and enhancement of streamside areas.
Following the Public Hearing, Council shall not receive further information or submissions and may consider advancing bylaws forward for additional readings.
Copies of the proposed bylaw and reports relevant to this bylaw may be inspected at City Hall, 8645 Stave Lake Street, Mission, BC, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, from Friday, April 19, 2024 to Monday, May 6, 2024.
