December 29, 1945 - May 15, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Koppman (nee Blois) by
cardiac arrest at Abbotsford Regional Hospital just after midnight on May
15th 2021 at the age of 75. Admitted to the hospital a week prior, she had
suffered from health issues in the preceding months that greatly limited
her mobility. Carol always had a beautiful smile and a cheerful greeting for
everyone she met, and enjoyed daily morning coffee with a close group of
friends, lifelong bonds that filled her heart and lifted her spirits.

Carol was born in Mission on December 29th 1945 to parents Eric and Lillian
Blois. As a teenager, she was a Miss Mission Princess and helped out at the
Heather Drive-In diner in Dewdney and Susie's Haven general store in Lake
Errock, both run by her parents, and Merv's Shell Service in Dewdney, where
she met her future husband and love of her life, Ted Koppman. After
graduation, she worked at the Mission Pharmacy, CIBC, Overwaitea, and Dr.
Stratton's dental office until the arrival of their first child.

Married on September 16th 1967, Ted and Carol lived and worked for many
years on Willowbank Farms in Hatzic. Noted by newspapers for being the
first Canadian farm to use solar energy, Willowbank was a picturesque 166
acre dairy farm with a large pond, poplar and willow trees, and a
distinctive outline between the river and railway tracks that can be seen
on maps of British Columbia. Carol enjoyed shopping, crafting and occasional vacations in Hawaii, Montreal, Quebec City, Las Vegas, Reno, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Tijuana, an
Alaskan cruise, and an extended outing on the Rocky Mountaineer to Banff
celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Carol's beautiful presence is dearly missed by her loving husband Ted of
more than 53 years, her children Teddy (Cindy) and Teri, grandson Kalan, and
siblings May, Malissa (Bob) and Hervey (Pat).
