Dorothy BURNS

BURNS; Dorothy Rose (née Tranter)

January 6, 1918 ~ July 1, 2015

Born in Catford (London), England, Dorothy was a bomb girl during the war when she met Hughie. A war bride, she came to Canada to start a new life in Kelfield, Saskatchewan, an English rose transplanted to the Canadian prairie. She was a great mum of five sons. Her family, gardening, square dancing and traveling with Hughie in their RV brought her joy. She took many a niece, nephew and other youth under her wing. A woman of faith, Dorothy had a great sense of humour and a warm smile. Thanks to all who helped Dorothy along the way. She is home at last with Hughie and Don. Memorial Tuesday, September 1st, 1:00 pm at Holy Spirit Anglican Church, 27123 River Rd., Maple Ridge, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy’s memory are welcome to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. ( or 1-800-667-3742).
