On January 23, 2018, Fay Vertresa Goddu peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 8, 1928 in Green River, Wyoming. Fay was predeceased by her husband Ray and granddaughter Rachel Nash.
She is survived by her six children, Bill Goddu, Susan Lashley, Paulette Goddu, Lucy Bolton, Yvonne Holman, Jackie Abbott, and her seven grandchildren; John Goddu, Willow Yamauchi, Amanda Trites, Brock Abbott, Alex Holman, Katherine Holman, Scott Holman and five great grandchildren.
Fay loved history and poetry, and was inspired by science. She particularly enjoyed reading about the kings and queens of England, the Titanic, the Periodic table and astronomy, eventually building her own telescope.
She loved spending time with her large family and encouraged music and singing at family events. Fay was a true matriarch and an indomitable spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7500 Columbia St., Mission, on March 3 at 1:00 pm.
