George passed away with his wife Helen at his side on May 12, 2021 at Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Jean Georges Albert Coutu was born June 8, 1928 on the family farm, St. Victor district of Saskatchewan. The youngest child of seven children, he attended school at Maisonneuve School and grew up in the area.
George married Helen Woloshen May 18, 1953 in the Catholic Church at St. Victor, SK. George farmed the family farm and Helen worked for Family Life in St. Victor. After their marriage, they farmed until 1959 and then moved to British Columbia.
George worked at Alcan in Kitimat, the lumber industry in Mission, then 19 years at Whonnock lumber mill. They had a family of four children; Denis, Suzanne, David and Michael. In July 1990, George and Helen returned for early retirement in St. Victor.
George's interests included leather craft, repairing saddles and bridles; meticulous woodworking; violins, miniature tractors, elevators, churches, red river carts.

George is predeceased by his parents Josephat and Marie-Anne (Laferriere) Coutu, siblings; Paul (Madeleine), Rose (Ted) Hubert, Philip (Lucille), Jeannette (Urbain) Frechette, Marie (Ulysse) Langdeau, Cecile (Victor) Kropinski.
He is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Helen; four children; Denis (Penny), Suzanne (Brian) Lund, David (Jeannie), Michael; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
