December 25, 1960 - November 3, 2020
Holly G. Zehner, 59 of Nanaimo, BC was swept into the arms of the angels at 3 am on November 3, 2020 after a two year battle with Cancer.
Holly was born Christmas Day, 1960 to Roy & Emily Wolden in Mission, BC. At the tender age of 16 Holly met Gary and they fell in love, five years later they were married at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church.
Holly's dream was to be a mother and after five heart-breaking miscarriages their first child was born.
Holly was a talented artist & cook and she always had room in her home for a person in need. She was a dedicated Mother & doting Grandmother, who gave everything for her children.
Eight years later Gary & Holly moved their young family to the 400 acre Moose Horn Ranch. Holly ran the farm often alone (as Gary had to travel for work). Holly not only cared for her 3 young children she also; taught her children, organized homeschooling events, managed the 100+ head of cattle, 5 horses, chickens and 3 dogs. Sometimes this work had to be done in forty below weather an hour away from any store and fifteen minutes from her closest neighbour. The challenges she faced on the ranch were a true testament of her courage and strength. This strength helped Holly through the many obstacles she faced in her life.
As an empty nester Holly discovered a love for dancing and the blues, which resulted in her tribe of music loving friends being born. Holly danced her way through the heartache as well as the pain, never giving up hope. She danced until she could not dance anymore.
Our family would like to say a special thank you to all the beautiful friends and family who were there for Holly during her battle and after her passing. Thank you for the love and support that she needed to continue during the hardest days of her life. (Psalm 27)
She was preceded in death by; her parents Emily & Roy Wolden, Brother Dennis Eastman, Sister-in-law Sherry Eastman, Brother-in-law Eric Vanderham.
She is survived by her Husband Gary Zehner, Daughter Hannah Shala (Sadri) 2 Grandchildren, Daughter Petra Mathews (Brandon) 3 Grandchildren, Son Benjamin Zehner, Brother Wayne Eastman, Brother Rory Wolden, Brother Barry Wolden, Sister Paula Thiessen.
