In loving memory ~
Born May 20th, 1943, in Moose Jaw, Sask. - Received his angel wings on November 16th, 2023, at Mission Memorial Hospital. Hugh leaves behind his devoted wife Diane, their daughter Sheela (Terry) Vincent, his grandson Maxwell (Brooke) Spencer, his children Chad and Kara Hammond, his sister Donna (Greg) MacDonald and his grand-dog Biggie whom he adored.
Hugh gave up his dream of being a professional NHL player with the Chicago Black Hawks when he was recruited into the RCMP. He served in the force for 10 years in Clearwater, Osoyoos and Maple Ridge. After leaving the force he sold real estate, until he decided to go into Security Management for Kwantlen College, SFU and Children's Hospital.
Hugh was an avid golfer and he loved to tell anyone that would listen about his five holes in one. Three of which were at his favourite course (Mission Golf Course) where he played with his cherished friends Bryan Bodell, Peter Efremjan and Gilbert Gamache. He is now playing golf in some heavenly course with Skipper, Beezer and his precious granddaughter, Chelsea Fawn Spencer.
The family would like to thank all the members of Mission Co-op (St. Andrew's Place) for their kindness and support. Hugh always felt that he and Diane were blessed to be part of such a caring community.
