January 7, 1928 - March 15, 2021
James A. Kinross passed away March 15th at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at 93 years of age. Born in Portreeve, SK January 7th 1928. His family relocated to the Fraser Valley in 1937, in 1956 Jim married his wife Kate and together in 1958 they built their home in Abbotsford, BC where Jim lived for 63 years. This home is where he raised his two children, watched his grandchildren grow up and contributed to a neighbourhood community that brought him much joy.
Jim worked as a surveyor for B.C. Hydro for many years, leaving him with many fond memories of adventures hiking the back country of this beautiful province that he loved so much. He later moved onto a job with the City of Abbotsford in order to spend more time at home with his family, retiring in 1993.
His great loves were his family, the outdoors, fishing with his childhood best friend Rusty, and spending time in his garden.
Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Kate, son Colin, and brother George. He is survived by his daughter Joan (Len), his two grandchildren Shae (Cam), Will, his great-granddaughter Farleigh, his brother Ralph, as well as many beloved family members, including treasured nieces, nephews, and friends who have become like family.
Jim will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humour and giving spirit. He will be greatly missed.
Sadly, due to current restrictions there will not be a Celebration of Life at this time.
